Who I AM

This website is operated by Neill Crump, author of SHAPED. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can contact me through the contact form on the About Neill page

Information i collect

  • Newsletter subscriptions: your email address, subscription status and the information needed to manage delivery and unsubscribing
  • Contact messages: your name, email address, optional subject and the contents of your message.
  • Technical information: information such as IP address, browser, device, referring page, pages visited and security or cookie data collected by WordPress.com and Jetpack to operate, protect and understand the site.

Why I use it

  • To send SHAPED Field Notes when you have asked to receive them. The lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email
  • To read and respond to messages. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and correspondence
  • To operate, secure and maintain the website and meet legal obligations. The lawful basis is legitimate interests and, where relevant, legal obligation

Who may process this information

This site is hosted by WordPress.com and uses Jetpack services supplied by Automattic. Automattic may process information needed to host the site, deliver subscriptions, handle forms, prevent spam, provide security and operate related services. I do not sell your personal information.

International processing

WordPress.com and Jetpack are international services. Information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the service provider is responsible for using appropriate safeguards. See Automattic’s privacy information for further detail.

how long i keep information

  • Newsletter information is kept while you remain subscribed. A limited suppression record may be retained after you unsubscribe so that your choice can be respected
  • Contact messages are normally kept for up to 24 months, unless there is a clear reason to keep them for longer
  • Technical logs and statistics are retained according to the settings and policies of WordPress.com and Jetpack.

YOUR rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Use the contact form if you wish to exercise a right.
